Computer Use: It is not necessary for you to have your own computer to participate in this class, or to have a high level of profiency in computer use. However, this class does require you to:

Attendance and participation. A significant portion of the work in this class is based on ideas which emerge from lecture and discussion. Thus, attendance is required and participation is rewarded.

Due date policy. Papers are due in my mailbox at 9 AM of the day after the date specified in the Course Schedule, if you are in class on the specified day. Otherwise, papers are due at the beginning of class on the specified day.

Plagiarism: Plagiarism is using someone else's words or ideas as your own without acknowledging the source with proper documentation. See Holt Handbook. pp. 279-286. Also helpful is the discussion of paraphrasing, Holt Handbook, pp. 271-285. Students found guilty of plagiarism will fail the assignment and the course.
